St. Valentine’s Short Short Competition – Match #37
Aetheric Eight – Fourth Match
“Over and over the construction was wrong…” by Alandria Cruxiel
vs
Match #37
- “Over and over the construction was wrong…” by Alandria Cruxiel: 375 Votes
- “Submerged” by Empress Annde: 402 Votes
Not really random… We frequent them quite often.
As stated, there’s a difference between asking friends on Tumblr and asking friends of friends or online acquaintances or complete strangers with huge userbases for votes. Same action, different setting = unethical rigging of the vote.
I’d like to see a rematch of Match 37 with blind voting — no one being able to see the results.
At the start of this contest, it wasn’t possible to view voting results while voting was still in progress. That practice should have continued.
I think this just would have been better with judges and not popular vote… Popular vote does not select the best story, just the story who has the biggest fanbase, which shows heavily.
It’s also fairly strange that this is the only contest to have ended late so far. Kudos to the person in charge. You’ve done your job well.
