The Speculative Fiction Clearing House has an index of short fiction that may be searched from this page. The index is far from comprehensive--it contains less than 600 stories from a set of fairly recent sources--but it is a start and it will grow.
Searching is by keyword. For a given search, you may enter as many keywords as you like. For example, to find all the stories published in 1994, you could enter "1994".
Normally keywords can appear anywhere within the index entry. For example, "reed" would yield results for "greed" and "reedy" and well as "reed". If this is not what you want, you can use curly braces to indicate hard work breaks. Thus, "{reed}" would only match "reed", "{reed" would match "reed" and "reedy", and "reed}" would match "reed" and "greed". [This is still a little buggy!]
Use spaces (NOT COMMAS) not separate keywords.
Any and all comments would be appreciated.
