Build Your Own Steampunk Bandwidth Meter

November 17, 2010
Thorsten Haas, aka Skytee, has built a very cool steampunk gadget, which he calls the Torrentmeter, to measure how much bandwidth he is using at any given moment. And the best part is that he has shared instructions on how to do it. He goes over everything from the circuitry for the microcontroller and the software to drive it (on Linux; sorry Windows folk) to how he used tea-dyed the paper for the face of the gauge. All in all, a well described project for the maker-inclined. Check it out.
