A small apology for not getting this announced yesterday, but life sometimes interfered with Steampunk.com business. I know, I know. My priorities are all out of whack. Mea culpa.

Llewellyn’s Steampunk Tarot

If you’re looking for a Steampunk Tarot deck, you have a new option from Llewellyn, one of the biggest names in new age publishing. The cards and accompanying book were created by Tarot expert Barbara Moore and artist Aly Fell. The result is a beautiful deck featuring everything from airship captains and mad scientists to chimney sweeps.

If you stop and think about it, Tarot and Llewellyn fit incredibly well with Steampunk. The second half of the 19th century was home to a great occult revival in Europe, including a resurgence of interest in Tarot. And Llewellyn? They were founded in 1901, meaning they were actually around in Steampunk times.

Aether Cola, the First Steampunk Soda

Steampunk continues to infiltrate new territory, this time the soft drink world, with Aether Cola, which seems to be the first Steampunk cola. This is a welcome addition to the potable choices available to a Steampunk enthusiast, as most of the exist options have been of the alcoholic persuasion (e.g. Hendrick’s Gin, Kraken Rum, and many varieties of absinthe).

Unlike other colas, Aether Cola is clear, and, in proper 19th century fashion, Aether Cola even has some patent medicine claims in their marketing. Unfortunately, I have yet to secure some of this potentially tasty beverage for myself; CyberCandy will ship to the Americas, but their site would not let me add it to my cart. For the moment at least, I’ll have to ask my readers who have to share their experiences with us.
